I am happy you have arrived here.

I hope something about graphic design and digital art has sparked your interest, and maybe this semester that spark will turn to flame. 

Here are some of the best ways students have found to be successful in our beginning photography course:                 
                                                                                                   
1. Work thoughtfully & mindfully so others may do the same.
2. Be prompt, on-time, present and remain in the studio.
3. Listen carefully and be courteous when others are talking or demonstrating.
4. Always use time productively.
5. Insure your language, comments and projects appropriately follow TuHS school handbook guidelines.
6. Demonstrate a positive approach to assignments.
7. Positively receive feedback and critique.
7. Pursue challenging solutions & strive for high standards of achievement.
8. Keep track of – and clean up – materials, and come to class prepared to work.
9. Demonstrate personal initiative and problem solving ability.
10. Actively participate intelligently in individual and group activities and critiques.

I am enthused about taking you from point A to point B. Each of you comes to the class with a different creative starting point, and will grow/learn from there. That is inherently exciting. I am honored to be a part of your education, and believe you can go far.

Go to Target sometimes it just has a good vibe. Do whatever you want whenever you want, if it's truly a bad decision, then there will be consequences, but if not then you'll know you made the right choice. ask for things you need and don't feel guilty about it  Make peace with your past so it won't screw up the present. SYLLABUS WHAT IS GRAPHIC ART/DESIGN?  Digital Art 1  is designed to be an introduction to the  digital arts.   You will have opportunities to learn  design industry skills  such as  illustration, drawing, graphic design  and  typography, animation, and photo manipulation .  You will gain an understanding for how to use file formats for output devices such as web, color printing, 3D printing, laser cutting, and vinyl cutting.   Most importantly, you will learn how to generate ideas and learn the key components of creative problem solving which can be used in a wide variety of careers. The software we work with will be the current industry version of Corel Painter, Adobe Photoshop, & Adobe Illustrator.  We will focus on how to apply the  elements of art and principles of design to create, present, and critique  a work of art using the language of aesthetics. 'SCAPES 1-3

WHAT IS DUE . 'SCAPE 1:  A Landscape with only land elements  (combine FOUR+ land elements) 'SCAPE 2:  A landscape that incorporates and integrates (through careful selection/erasing/cloning) six or more  animal/humans/object elements 'SCAPE 3:  A 'scape that is entirely of your own creation  (three+ added elements).  This can be a cityscape, landscape, surreal scape, dream scape...it does not need to grounded in reality. Odd, unexpected, surprising are good.  *A total of THREE  separate Photoshop designs/composites will need to be created to be scored.  **Total points possible: 12 (4 points per 'scape) RATIONALE  (WHY ARE WE DOING THIS?) To practice and focus skills in Photoshop regarding  layers ,  placing/rasterizing , adjusting  color/value ,  edit+transforming  selections,  selection  tools. THE THREE IMAGES. Create  THREE  separate  'scape  composite images. Use very high-resolution images (1000x1000 minimum) from image searches. See links below.
