All other items will be adapted and modified for our 'online' reality.  😁 SYLLABUS - FALL 2020 WHAT IS THIS?  Digital Art 1  is designed to be an introduction to the  digital arts.   You will have opportunities to learn  design industry skills  such as  illustration, drawing, graphic design  and  typography, animation, and photo manipulation .  You will gain an understanding for how to use file formats for output devices such as web, color printing, 3D printing, laser cutting, and vinyl cutting.   Most importantly, you will learn how to generate ideas and learn the key components of creative problem solving which can be used in a wide variety of careers. DIRECTIONS FOR COLLAGE. Create an image collage with at least EIGHT+ cut out and combined elements. TO THINK ABOUT: 1. Create MULTIPLE LAYERS. There should be a layer for each of the following: -A layer mask that includes a painted mask for some element in the image -Cut & Pasted element(s) (layers that are comprised of single cut-out elements) *Layers should exist and indicate that you used that layer during the creation of the final image.  2. Your final image could include the following in some way: -A gradiant -Text/numbers -EIGHT+ Cut-out and assembled elements (not including text) 3. To get you thinking & working... -Create new layers with different elements -Cut & paste images parts into what will be your final image -Select using the LASSO & MARQUEE SELECTION tools -CLONE STAMP -PEN TOOL -Gradiant layer - that is sliced/cut out. -Play with perspective, size, opacity, blend modes, filters... -Text...in perspective...half erased/cut 4. ...

'SCAPES. RATIONALE. To practice and focus skills in Photoshop regarding layers , placing/rasterizing , adjusting color/value , edit+transforming selections, selection  tools. TO DO. Use multiple photographic sources to create a believable -or- surreal photographic composite image that illustrates an understanding of perspective. Create THREE separate 'scape composite images. Use very high-resolution images (1000x1000 minimum) from image searches.
