  SYLLABUS WHAT IS THIS?  Digital Art 1  is designed to be an introduction to the  digital arts.   You will have opportunities to learn  design industry skills  such as  illustration, drawing, graphic design  and  typography, animation, and photo manipulation .  You will gain an understanding for how to use file formats for output devices such as web, color printing, 3D printing, laser cutting, and vinyl cutting.   Most importantly, you will learn how to generate ideas and learn the key components of creative problem solving which can be used in a wide variety of careers. The software we work with will be the current industry version of Corel Painter, Adobe Photoshop, & Adobe Illustrator.  We will focus on how to apply the  elements of art and principles of design to create, present, and critique  a work of art using the language of aesthetics. Through a variety of skill enhancing projects, and written assignments, we will explore how to refine a work of art and relate our ideas to

  Welcome, Designers! You're here!  I'm really happy you are here.  And you are  meant  to be here.  My love for all things visual, and particularly graphic & 2D design fuel my joy in the job. You are integral to that joy.  You may or may not know it yet, but you are visually savvy & skilled, and we will use your innate abilities and life experience as a foundation for some great images and work.  I am - and others are - counting on your full  partic ipation.   You should h ave fun!  But don’t forget to   c hallenge yourself.  Don't simply rely on what comes easy to you, or what has been successful in the past.  Remember...as in life, you are in charge of your experiences.  Decide to make this great! It truly is a  choice .  With your open heart, curious mind, and willingness to push through the tough stuff it  will  be great.  I am excited to share with you what I know, and equally looking forward to watching you create what you will.
